In a life I've yet to live
I hold your heart within my hand,
And all the love I have to give
finds a home within one man,
All the promises one makes
just to have what they hold dear,
Are set aside by the mistakes
that separate you through the years,
A moment lost becomes regret
an err you may never recover,
But the heart refuses to forget
a love it's failed to discover,
My love like a forgotten friend
comes at times out of the blue,
As much as I could have loved you then
isn't near as much as I now love you,
Like a flower well beyond it's blush
preparing for the Winters coming cold,
My love reclines into a softened hush,
as peaceful sleep unfolds,
I've blamed myself but now forgive
not having you was not the plan,
Like the flower I dream of a life yet to live
holding your heart within my hand....

what a gem how did I miss this!?!
I have for sure felt this way before and some parts of it just rolled of my tongue
bets bit:
"In a life I've yet to live
I hold your heart within my hand,
And all the love I have to give
finds a home within one man,"
and
"A moment lost becomes regret
an err you may never recover,
But the heart refuses to forget
the love it failed to discover,"
man I miss ya wish you were writing still
Much Love
Ashley
