It was a warm sunny Sunday morning when my brother and I decided to spend the day outside, we did not know what to do however so we decided to flip a coin to decide where to go. Heads, we go to take a walk wherever. Tails, we go to a park with our bicycles and ride around the park. We decided to get an impartial decision so we went to our mother to make it a fair coin toss. After she flipped the coin it landed on tails so we grabbed our respective bikes and the car keys to go to the park. It was there that we hit another snag in our sunny Sunday morning. We did not know which park to go to. There were so many that we knew of that we could go to that we were undecided. Finally, after much deliberation between us both, we decided to go to the park that was the biggest of them all, a park that assured a lengthy bicycle ride to spend an enjoyable morning. It was not far from our home however there we hit another snag in our morning. The car was nearly out of gas and the nearest gas station was ways away from the park that we had chosen to go to. My brother was going spare and almost turned the car around when I insisted on going to the gas station and afterwards going to the park that we had decided on. Before all this could take place, it was necessary to return to our home so we could grab the needed money to be able to pay for the gas. Money in hand we arrived at the gas station and refilled the tank. By this time, an hour had passed and we had not yet arrived at the park to have our bicycle ride. All the preparations now finished, we finally parked the car near the park itself. My brother and I unloaded our bicycles from the car and, now finally achieving our objective, got on them so we could ride them around the park. The park itself is beautiful. It has many trees, green grass and blooming flowers that made the visit worthwhile. Some could even say that it was a landscape painting waiting to be painted by someone who could do it justice. A couple of hours later my brother and I met up again by the park entrance and began to cool down from a lengthy bicycle ride. This cool down time eventually devolved into an argument between which one of had a better bike and to settle this argument it was decided that a bicycle race was in order. The winner of this race would determine which one between us had the better bike as well as determine who the better rider was. It was decided then that the race would be three circuits around the park since both of us were beginning to feel hunger and our mother surely had prepared a nice meal that was waiting for our return. And there we went. Both of us racing down the path that the park had in order to win the race. We were neck to neck, head to head. The first circuit soon went by, followed by the second. My brother however soon took a shortcut by going outside the path the park had through the grass to overtake my position. It was hardly fair but we had not actually established rules that had to be followed, it was not explicitly said that we needed to stay on the path of the park. I ultimately decided to do the same to overtake him and reach the finish line. It was the last turn of the park path and there I went, cutting through the grass in order to win the race. What I had not counted on however, was the mud slicked grass that part of the park had because of the rains the day before. I felt my bike skid through the grass and only had a peripheral view of a metal bench before I blacked out. I woke up in the hospital an hour after, with stitches on my knee and my head. Looking around I noticed my brother and parents hanging in my room. After the customary “How are you feeling?” my brother decided to get in one last dig by saying that even though I was hurt, he had still won the race.
