Addicted to gambling

You're addicted to gambling which happens to be a sin.

You've got a problem, you keep gambling again and again.

You said you would get some help but you lied through your teeth.

Eversince you started gambling, the kids and I have had nothing but grief.

I've stood by you even though it's been pretty rough.

But we're going broke and I've had enough.

You gamble away the money that you're supposed to use to pay bills.

I'd like to think that you can overcome your problem but I'm afraid that you never will.

You sold the house your mother left you and both of our cars.

You lost it all at gambling, I no longer know who you are.

I want you to see some people and I'll stand by you if you agree.

But if you don't let these people help you, I'll pack my bags and I'll take our kids with me.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I got the idea for this poem after I watched a Delta Burke movie.
