A veil lay strewn across my eyes,
As the softest sounds destroy my will,
A silky silence holds me down,
As shadows dance before me still.

The fear that nips me crunches down,
And tears begin to burn my cheeks,
I am a pawn in this game of rite
Who is this god for all men speaks?

The fire rises with each hateful word,
As the air becomes thick with smoke,
Lying helpless with my hands bound,
I strain to breathe and begin to choke.

At once I feel the hands upon me,
From all directions they just arise
Groping and clawing at exposed flesh,
A pathetic release for a nation of lies

In the darkness I fall the easy prey,
I fight and scream but just in vain,
They torture me till the break of day,
When I realize I’ve gone insane.

I’ve lost all innocence at once
What have I left in this life to keep,
I wish for death there in my chains
Till I realize I’ve been asleep

The voice that filled my nightmares,
Is here inside my bed,
And the hands that tormented me
Are your safer hands instead.

You voice is filling up the night
Bringing me back where I am sane
Laying here inside my bed,
Your voice screams out my name

Your hands upon my shoulders
Shake me from my keep
I finally realized it now
And I can’t go back to sleep.

I strain to breathe as I begin to choke.

At once I feel the hands come upon me,
From all directions they seem to come
Groping and clawing a feast of flesh,
The sacrifice has just begun.

In the darkness I’m the easy prey,
I fight and scream but just in vain,
Then I realize I’m in my bed,
And it’s only you calling out my name.
