Time stains

The betrayals of time linger in my eyes,
Like a constant reminder, that I have wasted my life.

The dark aura of tear stained flesh,
stretches out to the reaches of all that is left,

Illuminating the years of pains bitter embrace,
and the shadows of hopelessness lingering on my face.

But, then there is the gleam in the blue that hides,
Beneath the surfaces secrets and lies on the outside.

Who are you? they ask. Beneath the show?
Such lingering questions, with answers I don't even know.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem has to be read slow.. making sure you use the words written. Often people read things quickly and if you do you will miss the treasures that are hidden within the words. Read it slow... enjoy.

Really great poem! Very introspective and the twist of wording forces you to consider everything in the poem and the interplay of the wording. Great writing!

Ah ha.. you understand.. such a brillant man! I love twisty poetry which is probably why I love Lisa's poetry.. there are many things hidded in the walls of a word in the covering of an emotion.. thank you for peering deep and realizing them :)
