Silence has consumed and seduced my very existence,

It so many times has tortured and tormented me,

And yet this quiet that surrounds, calms me so freely.



Terrified I hid in the dark amidst the shadows,

As you entered my tainted sanctuary unprejudiced,

My body beaten and exposed yet you saw past this,



You climbed her towering gates and stood before me,

Your tender touch and soft words lay the lioness to sleep,

Here within the emptiness you released me from her keep,



And still in this freedom I’m terrified you’ll leave,

You were un-swayed by the mirage I set forth about my soul,

Though I lost the fight to keep you out, I don’t have to let you know.
