She sat there alone in the ocean she created,
Rocking back and forth like a boat on the waves,
Cradling in her arms an invisible child,
Watching the stars, praying to be saved,
Hushing the unheard cries with a silent whisper,
Like a breeze along the shore,
Staring out of an empty window,
Holding the child she never bore,
Her tears fell helplessly, for no apparent reason,
She watched as the sun set over the sea,
Smiling as she stares down at the emptiness in her arms,
Looking up to heaven, not voicing her plea,
Alone in a house where life seems non-existent,
In a chair where only she can sit,
Holding close what she wishes were there,
The captain of a ghost ship.
