There you lie in the cold dark night,
battling your demons has sapped your strength and will to fight.

Deny the colder side of your nature,
lie through your teeth, you spin a web of lies.

Fooling the world,
you're just an ordinary girl.

I know the truth that lurks in your eyes,
I know the beast that dwells inside.

I know each and every secret,
each forgotten dream,
each swallowed scream.

I know where you go when all the world sleeps,
I know who you are when you're alone in dreams.

You belong in the shadows, that's right,
shy away from the harsh day's light.

Come to me when all is falling away,
when all you hold is the memory of yesterday.

Broken with despair,
filled with dismay,
it had to end this way.

I know who you whisper your secrets to,
so much hidden in plain view.

Will you continue to make them play the fool?

Clever tricks run through a jaded mastermind,
leaving nothing but a trail of jagged hearts behind.

Will you stay and be safe or will our paths cross again,
in some other place in time?

I'll be waiting when all else has failed,
I'll be watching when the last light disappears from the sky.

You were made for me,
my sacrifice, my slave,
sweet surrender in your lullaby.

When everything else has turned to ash and ruin,
