As many times as I visited Neverland
I never once saw Peter Pan
my journeys began with the slow
impatient turn of that old doorknob
I would begin to run through the
tall swaying pastures of purple grass
trying desperately to hide between
the thick blades
he made me touch...
colossal kaleidoscopic flowers
changed color with each angel kiss
that disfavored my body
opposing emotions fought one another
with short sharp wooden blades
in the pit of my stomach
when my legs tired of running
like fairy dust
each of his thrust sent me higher
into the hazy red cotton filled sky
where the air up there reeked
of day old worker's sweat
& like every night, my fairy dust
would betray
& dissipate
as gravity took it's course
I landed headfirst
onto his lap...
Like the voice of God, I heard his
heavy baritone voice commands
SUCK
his edict: LICK
his edict: STROKE
his edict
until my peace came
in vain I searched for Peter Pan
or a measly
Lost Boy but each expedition
led me back to this pirate of
my emotions
who hooked and pulled at
my soul on a nightly basis
As many times as I visited Neverland
I never once saw Peter Pan
yes, this too
is my favorite
and after 400 years
the only thing that has changed
is you...

I enjoyed this piece. It was very creative. I'll never look at Peter Pan the same way. lmao!
wow. i have got to tell you that this really sticks. the entire imagery of peter pan land comes crashing down when you get to the edict. awesome, amazing, incredible job. although now i have this really warped point of view towards peter pan.....
