I got caught up in

rhythm rhyming

timing

how long it would take

for poets to respond

to my post

mostly

I got caught up in

the trend

of melodies blend

worried about response

from friends

forgetting the real

reason of why I write

losing the skills

that made me tight

instead of writing for me

I wrote to please

Now I see the error of my ways

so my focus has changed

I realized I must always

write for me

and only me

forget about what others

may see

Quite interesting! I could have sworn I heard heartbeats in your memos -- sometimes fast, sometimes slow, sometimes loud, sometimes soft as pleasant dreams. What journey did you just come from that caused your sight to blind?

Just curious?

Yes, a poet writes to please himself, and never apologizes for expressing his innermost feelings! If others like what you write....fine! If they don't, they can always read something else!

Go for it, bro!!!

I mos definitely agree with this
poem right here. Most REAL writers
truly write for themselves...

Man... Cuz I feel this one so tough! I can truly relate, I also got excited by all of the responses and critiques. I am also coming to realize the importance of writing for myself, even if it is not as often as I would like.

Be home soon, see ya then!

I FEEL this one like I wrote it.
You thinkin' like me, or I'm thinkin' like you.
TIGHT either way!
MUCH RESPECT!

I'll be back!
