Tired & Fed Up

Folder:
Blackness

I am tired fed up

with blaming another race

for the problems I suffer

cuz of the color of my face

I tired fed up

of hearing white man this

white man that

when I can't even keep my

own home intact

I am tired fed up

of seeing my sistas

walk the streets with a man

with white skin

don't she know if the skin don't

blend then you don't fit in

I am tired fed up

cuz my brothas are no better

tell'n those white girls

"I love you always & forever"

When will we realize that we must

see life through our own eyes?

when will we see we

can't place all the blame on

the white man

for the failure of our life's plan?

Author's Notes/Comments:

This was written fresh out of highschool. My views on interracial relationships have changed. I don't throw my poetry away because I think it is important to recognize the changes we go through in life.
