When I was once,
a younger man,
who thought time
and tides would stand,
I ventured forth,
with great aplomb,
not caring where,
I ventured from.
And in the effervescence,
of my age,
I sought to create
many an adventured page.
So that the many,
as "Byron" or "Keats"
would see the purpose
of traversing life's breech.
And with such promise
on that road less known
and the path beyond
reached as we grow
that what we do
I would understand
is prosper in the wake
as the teaching begins
others see the light
that we project
from the learned wisdom
and the words connect.
From open roads
and dusty trails
for common hearts
in each detail
While creation served
must be our goal
it is the care and nurturing
that expands the soul.
