"It's Gone! They're gone!"
I heard the voice of the Nation's cry
As Heaven's door opens wide
And the stars on high fell to earth
Seven souls renew their birth.
Aboard, Columbia STS 107
Seven humans reached for heaven
Pushing boundaries, far and wide
Accomplishing dreams from every side.
Descending upon the earth below
Suddenly appears a bright glow
Those on earth, anxiously await
The announcement of the Shuttle's fate.
Your earthly being has now departed
Family and friends, alone--broken-hearted
Sad, forlorn that you are gone
Yet, happy to know; you've reached home.
"It's Gone! They're gone!"
? the endless answer to the endless question STILL = WHY ?
good poem sad subject,
