the light is very dim
the room is barely visible
shadows fill the walls
i sit in awe, but not in fear
shadows move in unison
not one to venture alone
at times it is difficult
to see where they appear
it is time now for me
to bed i go to sleep
the room's no longer visible
the shadows i know are near
the light is very dim
my eyes are closed for the night
shadows appear beneath my lids
i sleep in awe, but not in fear
A rather ominous feeling pervades this poem, linda...
something that i may have felt when i lie on my bed, sleepless and with wild ideas tumbling inside my head.
We Chinese have this saying: Sleep without fear when you are clean with conscience, sleep with fear when you can imagine even a startling knock on the door.
Smilesz...
