(for Tim Marshall)
a unicorn in a rainbow pasture
words of beauty abound
love and admiration shine through
words penned so smoothly
they are sliding down the rainbow
into a pool of heart and soul
perfectly centered in your garden
in your garden wanders the lives
and souls of so many you have touched
or have touched you
amid the Honeysuckle Roses'
sweet scents and sounds
you find his many families...
living and deceased
the postpoems family is
there inching slowly
down your halls absorbing
the rays of sunshine
you spread throughout
poetry land.
the musician family
their works ranging
from alternative to vocal
not a note or sound muted
but randomly chosen
to set a mood
the fine tuned lives of
actors and actresses
fictional or non
from the local dinner
theatre to broadway the
motion picture show to tv
government officials
presidents and their families
technical geniuses
sharing rosemary and spearmint
strolling through lavender
and vanilla thrills
where passion is uncompared
we find your family and
intimate friends lolling
in the beauty and the aroma
of Miss Kitching's Kitchen
through pastel imagery
and rapids' furies
appear the artists and
authors who you admire
slumbering into romantic
and erotic fantasies
the climax nearing as we
meander around the pool
toward the gateway
here we find a mature willow
waving farewell yet calling
us closer depending on the
winds direction
upon the special bench
below the willow
you sit honoring
your families
placing the cherry
meticulously on top
of your day
facing a challenge
as if it was a feather
in the breeze
Tim,
you are thee unicorn in
a rainbow pasture

wonderful, I qutie like it. A dedication to Tim.
Linda, You described Tim's soul and poetry to a T; he is definitely a unicorn in a rainbow pasture - exquisitely beautiful, rare, and very hard to find but such a joy to behold to the lucky ones that lay eyes on him and his works.
I like the way you travel though the world you created here. To make a point you took the reader on a trip through a pleasent world with its complexities and ease. THis was a very good read.
A great tribute..and yeah, his hall has so much beauty that one poem may not cover all, but u did enough justice to his mastery, Linda. Smilesz. Congrats ~
I had to read this........ I have gotten to know Tim over the last year or so....... he is truly one of the most talented poets that I have ever had the pleasure of reading... he is so many things to so many people..... he is a great friend to me...... always has been and I know that he will always be .... gives me some of the most interesting titles when we play our title game...... a more loving and caring spirit you might never find again this was a great piece of reading ....... and I am sure that he loved it
