High upon the rocks I would
sit and ponder for hours
(allowing the wind to blow
the cobwebs from my brain).
Pole in hand empty of all bait.
Eyes fixed on the white caps
slapping against the rocks
below me.
The misty spray climbing
upward in opposition.
Sunrays dancing upon the
water with the grace
of faeries in the ballet.
Warm winds carrying voices
from the sea to all who
would listen.
Mesmerizing effects near
to hypnotic state
The songs of the ocean.
The strength of the waves.
Are the sirens real?
The WhiteCaps most
definitely...
surreal.
You vividly portray the sights and sounds of the sea...This is gorgeous. You write "with the grace of faeries in the ballet."
HI~super,i also enjoyed our stone breakers,a lot of magic there for sure!tell it to the sea,it reads and reminds me of the greatest peace,Theres a set of steps 3 steps thrown away 30-40- years ago and used for a dyking here on the baysides Pitchcroft farm, but i always felt it was put there special for me to roll a big boy and de-peddal a sun flower/rose or any flower and according to the tide pick one at a time and watch till it convoyed out and away, flower of dreams, thanks Lady Linda for re-uping this and i see some good titles to write about, your RENEE poem was heart fullfulling L&P
WOW.....I love the scene you portray here!! Great write!!
I read your poem Linda, and I am there, feeling the salt spray, hearing the waves rush and slap, smelling the ocean. So relaxing, And that wind however vicariously, blew me away. Super poem. Well done . Fleur
This poem was good, very strong imagery etc. Also the play on words at the end (real/surreal) was a great way to end.
There are some really beautiful and evoking lines here...that aid the reader to conjure up the actual sensations of sitting and watching those white caps.... Great flair and control , Linda... ~!!! 'The misty spray climbing upward in opposition. Sunrays dancing upon the water with the grace of faeries in the ballet. Warm winds carrying voices from the sea to all who would listen.' Ahhh yes.... the sheer bliss of this simple activity. Thanxs for reminding me of such joys in life, i have almost forgotten them. ;p
