MY CLANDESTINE SELF EXPOSED

BEHIND MY OWN LITTLE BARRIER

WITHIN MY OWN LITTLE WORLD

I HAD SECRETS FROM CHILDHOOD

THAT HID INSIDE MYSELF

THEY FOLLOWED ME TO ADULTHOOD

LYING DORMANT UPON MY INNER SHELF.

AN IMPENETRABLE WALL

SURROUNDED MY WORLD

AND IF BY MAGIC ONE DAY

THE WALL CRUMBLED

THE SECRETS UNFURLED.

I HAVE SINCE GATHERED NEW SECRETS

WITHOUT REBUILDING THAT WALL.

I WRITE THEM ON PAPER

THEN SHARE WITH YOU ALL.

I MAY NOT BE FANCY

I DON'T HAVE THE FLAIR

WORDS COME FROM MY HEART AND

I JUST HAVE TO SHARE.

Author's Notes/Comments:

To all of you at Post Poems THANKS; I am shouting to the world.

Thanks Linda...

sad thing about walls is that when we put them up to keep others out, we soon discover that they also keep us IN...and sharing from our heart is truly the ONLY way. Thanks for sharing some of your painful past wtih us.

AMAZING!!!! Being the conceited sort, I rarely find poems that I enjoy as much as my own........ this is one of those rare poems. Great use of rhyme, everything flows together beautifully. The way it is written just screams, "POWER!" as though releasing all those old demons has increased your strength. Good luck on rediscovering yourself. Thanks for sharing!

Hello Linda, Yes shout it from the house tops, your work is good and so enjoyable to read, I will try to read all and comment, but you are so prolific, it will take a little time. Best as ever, David.L.

Dear Linda Poems are like a ball of mirrors - every tiny mirror reveal a piece of the person giving away a fraction of their reflection. A lovely poem that I like alot! Regards Donkerman
