It seemed to me to be true

A friendship that would come due

But the lesson has been learned

The trust must be earned



An unspoken bond we held

Through all those night you yelled

I thought I could be the one

To have you never feel alone



So in the back I stayed

Knowing it would be my day

And yet when that day came

It all remained the same



It was then that I knew

That my job was not through

For I was no longer the next up

I had become your Back up
