The dim light burns
As our eyes adjust
A single torch
Set ablaze upon a stone wall
Casting visions of silhouettes
Throughout this cavern
Pillars slice its interior
Upon which
Hang men
Shackled from the light
Left to face the dim exterior
A wall
All they have ever known
Shadows playing both friend and foe
Imprisoned so long
Freedom seems cruel
Lost to the world
These men are home
A place we have never known
Brilliant
This reminds me of The Allegory of the Cave. Did you intend for that to happen?
