Farewell oh my father

I will never forget that December gloom day
When my father in Hospice was going away
I stood still at his bed having just come from work
He was calm paralyzed and not able to talk

Then he gathered his strength and we caught eye to eye
And he showed me up with his gaze to the sky
In his look was no sorrow, no worry, no fear, no "why"
That was just his sweet way to express last Good-Bye

Farewell oh my father, you've lived honest life
You are leaving behind grown son and your wife
All your troubles are over, you came to the end
I am praying that you to the sky will be sent
