i gave you up 

so you could have a better

life than what i could provide

it broke my heart 

to do it but it was

for you that i now deal with 

a broken heart everyday

i wanted you to

have the life i could never

have provided for you

i love you

and i always will

you are my first born 

and that will never change

i am glad to see

that you do not have to

worry about where your next meal

will come from

or where you will sleep at night

that is my gift 

to  you my dearest daughter

i hope one day you will understand

why i did what i did
