Night Ranger was my first concert! They opened for Sammy Hagar when he was touring with his Standing Hampton record. I had never heard of them, but after hearing Kelly Keagy's vocals and drum playing on the song "Sing Me Away" I was hooked. I bought all their tapes after that, even writing a record review for Midnight Madness for the school newspaper.
I also met them and got their autograph during the Midnight Madness tour. I brought with me a beautiful and smart redhead whom every guy in the school (except me) had made out with at some point. We had entered into a stereotypical 1980s "just a friend" cliché and I had a huge crush on her. She asked Keagy for a kiss to go along with the autograph. Instead of a little peck, they proceeded to French kiss! Needless to say I was a little jealous.
After we returned home, I confessed that I was miffed because we were such close friends yet had never kissed. Heck, she didn't even know the drummer for Night Ranger but they basically made out. She walked over and kissed me right then and there. That moment forever sealed my fascination with redheads, sluts and teenagers.
I saw them one other time headlining during their 7 Wishes tour but it wasn't as genuine since one of my wishes had already come true!
