Walking down the isle.

I didn’t expect it to be this way.

A tear forms in my eye.

I’ll never forget this day.

Flowers all around us,

a sweet smell fills the air.

Everyone stares at me,

but I don’t seem to care.

~

I’m getting closer to you,

with each step that I take.

I want to turn and run.

My heart begins to break.

~

I can’t do this, I’m weak,

as I slowly approach you.

You look so lovely there,

I wish you only knew.

~

I take your hand and shiver,

give in and start to cry.

I can’t let you go,

no matter how hard I try.

~

I should be dressed in white,

we said no turning back.

But now our dream is over,

and white has turned to black.

~

No vows to keep us together,

but you’ll always be in my heart.

I never thought it’d be so soon,

that death do us part.
