A Year Ago Today

A year ago we sat.

A year ago we watched.

A year ago so many died,

so many lives were lost.

~

A year ago we cried.

A year ago we mourned.

A year ago our heart’s sank,

America was torn.

~

A year ago we lost.

Yet, a year ago we gained.

We will never be the same,

for now our lives have changed.

~

A year ago the towers died.

In turn we all did mourn.

But at this time a year ago,

America was reborn.

God Bless America

On the 11-9-02 I took my camera out and tried to take a picture that would mean something to me, something that said I hadn't forgotten. This poem is your memory. Thank you for sharing it.
