Why is it that,
a caged bird can sing,
such a beautiful song,
a sure melody it brings.
~
Happiness is beautiful,
the beauty from within.
So how an it sing so beautifully,
when in a cage it’s in?
~
You’d think that in a cage.
Each bird would waste away.
Sing no song with such beauty,
to fill your everydays.
~
I’ve also thought that in a cage,
the melody would die.
But I know why the caged bird sings,
for it only wishes to fly.

i loved this it too reminded me of the refugees locked inside cages just for escaping the war i think we all wish too we could fly like the poor bird in the cage regards Michelle
i think they should let the birds go :-(

Love this poem... Your insight is OUTTA SIGHT!!!
One small error ... I stumbled over
Happiness is beautiful,
the beauty from within.
So how an it sing so beautifully,
when in a cage it’s in?
I am thinking ... you intended for this to read
>>So how }CAN{ it sing so beautifully <<<
I don't go in search of errors ... but I do read each word carefully and the lack of that one little "c" sortta made me stumble ... kinda messed up the flow for me...
I know when I write I often over look things like this.

Some fine thoughts in this poem.I have always felt sorry for birds in cages.Birds were designed for freedom in the skies.it reminds me of Leonardo Di Vinci who opened the cages in the market place and let the birds out to fly away.
Smile.. it is the cheapest facelift.
this is such a beautiful peice. i enjoyed reading it. it has a nice pace, then out of no where it takes you out by a question and then ends smoothly w/ the answear. good touch.
