Playing baseball in the yard.
Playing catch with dad.
Running to his open arms,
when I was feeling sad.
~
Going places in the car,
having fun all day.
Anticipating his arrival home,
from work so we could play.
~
Teaching me to play golf,
at the local driving range.
I was little, but learned a lot,
I guess some things never change.
~
Walking with him through the store,
my arm locked in his.
We still have lots of fun together,
but some things I still miss.
~
Laughing, joking, having fun.
Long talks in his room.
Watching his little girl turn from a seed,
to a flower in full bloom.
~
Looking through a picture box,
at memories that soothe.
Like daddy and his baby girl,
smiling in the picture booth.
~
My bright, long, red hair,
has faded to strawberry blonde.
And I may be getting older,
but we will always have that bond.
~
I will always love you daddy.
You’re the best in the whole world.
And no matter what happens,
I’ll always be your little girl.
~
I’ve always been a daddy’s girl,
and I know I’m just like you.
I’ve always admired your strength,
in all that we’ve gone through.
~
But no matter what goes on in life,
when it’s time for me to leave this world.
I want it to be carved in stone,
“Always was a daddy’s girl”
