A Gap

How can this poet,

speak from her heart,

when her heart,

has been broken?

A gap separates,

fact and fiction,

truth and lies,

and most of all,

happiness and pain.

Yet all she’s ever known,

is the second half,

of all these things.

Her broken heart separates,

fiction,

lies,

and pain.

From the first half,

fact,

truth,

and happiness.

Something she wishes,

she knew.
