Snowflakes

2001 Poetry

Snowflakes fall

and melt on the ground.

In this melancholy of sadness

that I have found.

~

Weak, I tremble,

and fall to my knees.

Beg him to love me,

I ask of him please.

~

The bells toll,

and sing their songs.

My hear pitter patters,

with they rhythmic dongs.

~

One by one,

snowflakes descend.

Like snow melts, love dies,

in the bitter end.

~

But I know you'll be here,

to help guide my way,

and love me even more,

each passing day.

~

I did not beg of you.

I just let things be.

Yet I was blind of your love,

and could not see.

~

That the one who truly loves me,

was right in front of my eyes.

To hold me and comfort me,

while my tears subside.

~

I'm so lucky to have found you,

as I watch the snowflakes fall.

And realize the ones who have hurt me,

don't matter at all.

~

And in this situation,

I know exactly what to do.

I'll look into your eyes,

and tell you I love you.
