September eleventh
two thousand one,
the day Afghanistan,
thought they had won.
~
It’s kind of funny,
they claim defeat,
but inside they know,
the US can’t be beat.
~
Plane to building,
smoke in the sky,
on this tragic day,
so many innocent people died.
~
Just another normal day,
go to work, get on a jet,
but this normal day,
is one we won’t forget.
~
America was robbed,
and taken was life,
so hold your baby,
and hug your wife.
~
Thank the Lord,
for each new tomorrow,
as America’s people,
feel each others sorrow.
~
This terrorist attack,
left a gash in our hearts,
but now Americans,
are no longer apart.
~
We’ve come together
to lend a hand,
we stand proud
on the US land.
~
Lady Liberty
strong and true,
is still standing,
and watching over you.
~
Fire fighters and police,
risked life and limb
They risked it all,
in a situation so grim.
~
A day of loss,
a day of mourning,
a day that changed history,
at 8:48 in the morning.
~
Tears on our faces,
along with a frown,
but that doesn’t mean America
is going to back down.
~
A day in history,
is what I tell,
this day in America,
when the twin towers fell.
