Once He was just a friend

That I’d not met, not seen, not known

He was a friend who loved me so much

But I was trapped inside myself alone

He would talk to me everyday

But I just ignored and pushed Him away

Still, He kept trying to get my attention

But He waited patiently with no tension

Until one day I was introduced to Him

Through a friend who’d known Him well

I realized my judgment had been dim

And that day He saved me from Hell

Now He’s my best friend

He’s with me all the time

He’s been there through thick and thin

Do you have a best friend? Jesus is mine!
