Old Junk

As I go about my day, I see old junk that just stands there on the side of the road waiting for someone to pick it up and toss it to, yet, another pile of old things that no one cares about, and wasted food no one ate. Food is accumulating into large amounts that, if fresh, would be fit enough to feed two whole armies, just with one week’s worth of trash. I see old things that, if cleaned could be almost brand new, if they weren’t taken for granted. Junk to one person could be treasure to another, but, to those who don’t care, it is just waste piling up, waiting for someone to take care of it.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This was written 2000 for part of a English writing project, where Mrs Jacobs gave a topic to write about, and we had a certain amount of time to write about it. Later, we took our favorite pieces and made a booklet of them. I still have my booklet!! :)
