Sun Kiss

Folder:
Love

Heart; moving like crashing waves in an angry sea

Never lost so much control of this hold its got on me

Emotions boiling over like hot lava in my blood

Consuming everything i am; I'm drowning in your love

Adrenaline rushing in, shocking my soul

My heart is pumping hard; my mind losing control

Your amazing eyes, your kisses so sweet

The coolness of your touch; my heart skips a beat

When you're near, nothing can go wrong; everything's so right

In your arms as you hold me throughout a moonlit night

Going crazy missing you when we're so far apart

Going out of my mind which is fighting my heart

Hearing your reassuring voice as I hold onto the phone

Awaiting your embrace, but in our bed I am alone

Until again you are here holding me so tight

Whispering "I love you" sporadically throughout the night

And I awaken to your kiss, and the smile of your face

As the dawn shines through, and I'm in your embrace

Lying next to you, staring into your eyes all the day long

Your perfection is never wearing. How could this be wrong?

And I don't know how I survive everyday that passes by

Without, my love, right here by my side

But our love can stand the test of time, we can both be strong

When we can't hold each other, our hearts are hanging on

And I'll look out at the sky knowing you're under the same one

And when I can't see the stars, I'll await upon the sun

Blowing a kiss into the wind for its rays to catch

Until it awakens you each morning with its warmest touch

And you'll think of me as your eyes open and you start your day

Knowing I'm thinking of and loving you from so far away

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem has no reflection on any of my experiences. It is about what I imagine married life to be like when so in love but forced to be apart for a time (i.e, spouse on a business trip).
