Branches separating, yet held together by the tree
Each designated with its array of colorful leaves
Enormously standing, hovering over me
It cradled us both inside my dreams
I climb into it, you’re on the ground
I’m high above you, reaching out for your hand
Hoping you can help me down
I’m afraid to fall, to hurt where I land
Can you climb up here to where I am at
Because you can’t hear my call
When you get here, you’ll sit where I sat
You won’t be below to break my fall
I fell down, I’m hobbling around
I’m in so much pain
You call for me, I hear the sound
I come running back again
I climb back up with the help of your hand
Feasting on feelings I don’t understand
Consuming the hurt, the pain, the blood
Because I’m afraid to accept the love
I climb up higher, I leave you below
My heart’s on fire, the beating slowed
It’s sleeping and you’re awaiting me
To wake up and climb out of the tree
Darkness moves in
You awaken me with a grin
“Are you ready to go now,” you ask
“No, let me sleep,” I say, my heart beating fast
Darkness greets the day again
You’re still there when I arise
Feed me, I’m starving with love and pain
I consume what I have now apprised
We climb back down together
But reach a branch we can’t transcend
From there in this dream I can’t remember
I finally woke up, and it came to an end
Beautiful work.
