Wake in the darkness of night
Hearing a roaring train in my head
Stop! Screeching to a dead halt
It crashes, I’m dead
Or am I? I see; I feel numbness
Unreality envelops my body, my mind
Feel the blood drip from my veins
This surreal imagery I can not unwind
Feet on the floor, I stumble around
I’m awake now, for the rest of the night
This long coach chugging through my head
Dragging me along this agonizing freight
Run along the rail, don’t fall again!
I turned too soon, it’s in my face
The bright beams of this Imaginary Train
Blinded me, I give up this chase
The whistle so loudly blaring
Ding! Ding! Red lights and railroad signs
The tracks change, the train shifts over
Hit the ground as I hear its earsplitting whines
Wake up, my body is numb
Blood rushes through my tired veins
My head hurts, my heart pounding
As I surrender to this Imaginary Train
