I saw that look on your face

The one that every friend fears

The sadness in your eyes

The look of holding back your tears



Please take my hand

I want to help guide the way

Because I  understand

All the confusion and dismay



When you lose strength

And feel you can’t fight it anymore

I’ll be closer than arm’s length

To help you win the war



When you need a shoulder

To cry, or lean on in despair

Or when your emotions begin to molder

Just know, for you, I’ll always be there



Don’t go down this road

Lost and all alone

When you stumble in the cold

I’ll kick away the stones



I can’t stop tears from flowing

Or make all the pain disappear

But I hope it’ll be easier just knowing

That for you, I’m always here



So, please take my hand
