I want to be a Def Poem written by a def poet.

I want to speak of these lyrics with out a production beat.

   I am a poet.

From the top of my head, to the tip of my feet.

I am a melody and acoustic guitar, a song but in one word, a POEM.

I'll tell a story about the hearts that were broken, lies that were spoken.

Women that were battered, dreams that were shattered.  

A story about the gullible believer and the charming deceiver.

The dreams that we have; and have yet to realize.

I want to be that poem that will open your eyes.  

No mountain is too high, no sea is too deep, and no challenge is too great.

I want to be that poems that helps elevate,

The youth in the struggle, always In trouble, the ignorant people that don’t see

AMERIKKKA doesn’t care about you and me.

My hair is not blond, my eyes are not blue.

Your last name isn’t a white man’s so who the fuk are you?

I want to be a poem one day recited over African drums, and with that beautiful sound that soulful sound one day become ONE
