Battered Blue

Your insensitive words

bruise my heart

and shatters my emotions

into pieces of glass

as tears downpour from

internal abuse.

Your actions change my skin

from white to pink to red

into purple into black and blue

because you can't stop to think

how your behaviors with your lack

of listening skills leave me battered blue

from the inside out.
