Nestled safely within us are insecurities.
At any moment, something could bring them out.
Fear of such a thing drives us to isolation.
Being alone hardly feels wrong when just one person can unsettle us.
Secrets are best kept just that..."secrets" as our defense.
Having anyone catch on to our true insecurities involves new emotions.
Carrying on an act comes naturally.
Yet the thought of someone knowing our inner selves feels so very odd and scary.
Instead of cleansing out the insecurities, we wrap ourselves in our own constant turmoil.
