Fabric Of Heartbreak

Fabric Of Heartbreak

Fabric Of Heartbreak

Once upon a time there was a maiden
sitting on a window sill looking out
the windows of her memories...

Mists of emotions trickled through her soul
as she reflected upon her past
of making sand castles in romance...

Droplets of sand fell her fingers tracing
the sensation of how her heart
danced with love with the sparkle
of his eyes touching the cords of her soul...

Drizzles of water splashed her face
with the reflections of all the times
he had yelled, belittled, manipulated
her in all the times in between.

Silver bars coated her eyes to protect
her fragile heart of shattered glass
with the sounds of harshness wrapping
around her spirit like a cloak.

Underneath her barricades beat the rapids
of rivers of passion boiling beneath her surface,
but her fear of being hurt and left in the shambles of tears
kept her from dropping her trust barriers.

Thunder crackled the skies of recollections...
Lightening shattered her window...
and the fair maiden began to fade
into the fabric of heartbreak.
