Ladybug (abstract)

Karyn Indursky

Up tree leaves
scurry tiny legs
before exhaustedly resting
beneath Pennsylvania sunshine
brighter than dirty
finger plucking up
a fragile me
scared of diversity
amongst God's creatures
as I spread
small red wings
with black dots
for flying away
early without forgetting
exploring various flowers
brilliantly smiling at
my black head
until night curtains
are drawn and
thus another radiant
day awaits this...
ladybug.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this after reading Kristine Snow's poem, "Ladybug." I hope you enjoy it as much I did writing it.
