These Childhood Days

There's a voice inside my head

And It's telling me to cry

To let me conquer all I feel

And let me wonder why

It's telling me to be myself

And not delay my tears

It's telling me to let it go

And speak aloud my fears

From the front, I'm just a little

Clueless happy girl

When, just like adults I can sometimes

Detest this dreadful world.

I live for me, I should smile

And concentrate on me

Until I grow and live to care

For my own family

Author's Notes/Comments:

Aimed at children with a message my mother always has for me:
You're a child, and should live for yourself and not for your parents or others until you become an adult and have a family to look after

The most important line in this piece is the one that says to be yourself, yes always your genuine self no matter what but in the end you have to answer to yourself for any and all you do in life...Great write Also never be afraid to cry for that is the time beyond smiling that shows the passion in your heart

This is a great poem. I also really like the message your mother had for you, I wish my parents had told me things like that when I was younger.
