I Don't Understand

Why does many a chair have legs?

For I have not seen it walk,

And why do my training shoes have tongues?

For I have not heard them talk.

And why do all my combs have teeth?

For never have I seen one eat,

And since when did a needle have a head?

And why do we measure in feet?

All this nonsense, I do not understand.

Has something gone wrong with our charm?

Or should we really have 12 inches feet,

And should my armchair, have an arm?

So maybe if I started counting with sheep,

Would that make sense to you?

And should I say that my corn has ears

For I think that sounds weird, don’t you?

If not then maybe I should say,

That my bunk bed has brains,

That my computer has a mouse,

And if I stay inside I'll get caught in the rain?

Author's Notes/Comments:

Don't worry, I haven't gone mad.
