Star

What is that star, I see up above?

Far far away in that dark world I love,

Where did it come from? Is it still there?

As long as I can see it I really don't care.

It's been in my heart since I can remember,

It keeps my soul warm in the cold of December,

It's shining up there, along with the moon,

All through the morning, and in the afternoon.

But it's at night when it's visible to me,

With all the other stars and galaxies I see.

I feel like I can hold it in my hand, in my palm,

In my angriest moments it makes me feel calm.

God bless the world when it's deprived of my star,

So close to home, and yet so far.

Teri, a very sweet and meaningful poem. I like to think that each one of us has our own star in the heavens that guides us through life. Thanks for your comment on my
poem. I write many songs. All the ones that have the little "flashing speakers" have my original music behind them. Try clicking on "They Don't Give Out Medals" and tell me what you think of my song with its own music. Keep writing. Starting now is great. You are doing a fine job. Bill
