Moonlight throws shadows upon the floor
And sounds of night I so much adore
Are present now, this lonely time
Abreast the image of love once mine
The man whose forsaken his delicate rose
With him, my knowledge of happiness goes
Sadness was his gift to me
Disowned our love, now my heart bleeds
I yern thee more at this ghostly hour
Thy absense has left me cold and sour
Forever spoiled at youths' prime age
And left my soul with hate and rage
The night is heart breaking, and for what I see
I've been left in darkness for eternity
Hi Maria:
The poem is very fine...It expresses the pain of love in a very delicate manner...If love is not requited, the loss is not entirely yours. If someone doesn't appreciate true love and forsakes it the ultimate loser is that person and none else. A sensitive soul can forget and forgive those who are ignorant and misled. God will definitely reward you for the love you have for His created beings!!!
