Leaper

It was again a  day of joy,

When another lesson I was taught,

To behold a sum that would annoy,

That by day's end amounted nought.

The usual crowd had come around,

To see if merriment was up for grabs,

But we ne'er lest knew we were bound,

To a splash of luck and a coupla' slabs.

And after rant and swill and play,

I was left to just sit down with cherube,

To view the bare facts of another day,

That let me wonder over and chew.

Perhaps if I was more like the busy type,

That abseils and vaults through current life,

And became an overt hurtling hype,

I would not carry a pack but instead a knife.

Ah, the deep thoughts of a student after a long day at school wrapped in the deep thoughts of the professor - now free to let the mind soar on its own & chew on the wonders of the unverse after the school bell rings.
