Hope

Like the titanic sinking
Breaking at the core
Struck by an unexpected blow
Piece by piece I shed
This perfectly constructed dream
Destroyed and sinking
Into oblivion
To be forgotten
To be remembered
To bring so much hope
To bring so much sorrow
Tragic and unexpected
It was too good to be true

Shattered hope

I can totally relate! It really hurts when what you have hoped for doesn't come to pass. I like the irony of the title. The actual poem is about shattered hope yet the title makes the reader expect a poem that is full of hope. The Titanic imagery is very fitting. Shattered hope is like the sinking of a seemingly unsinkable ship. Good poem!
