Gift of Love

With beauty the sunlight reflects on the sea

Seen by a child that was just over three

Loving his mother with pure and simple heart

Wanting to gift her before they depart

The disappearance of the sun was beginning to occur

And all he could do was to think of her

With love in his eyes and no chance to fail

He asked her quickly to give him a pail

Grabbing and running to the water's edge

Using the pail he started to dredge

The remnants of sunlight before it was gone

For it would not return until the next dawn

Running back with bucket in hand

Filled up with water, debris, and some sand

With a smile radiating as only a child can do

He said, "look mommy just for you"

She was confused and puzzled without a clue

Then he said "A bucket of sunshine, and it's just for you"

Her most prized possession it has become

A simple gift from a loving son
