Friends Never Met

Folder:
2003 Poetry

It's an interesting world we live in,

with Internet access available to all.

Allowing us to communicate

with people we would never know.

Strangers in the dark without any form,

sharing the written word in the vastness.

It could be with silly banter,

or our most private thoughts.

Amazing, friendships can evolve

without ever meeting someone,

never casting an eye on their flesh,

or seeing a smile on their face.

None the less these friendships grow,

looking forward to the next electronic visit.

Like a friend stopping by in the night,

sharing a moment, saying hello, or poking fun.

This allows us to feel an affinity of sorts

to these friends we have never met.

Friends we likely will never see in substance,

but who know the substance of each others souls.
