I took a lone slow walk without a care,
through rain and mud toward my destiny.
Could smell the wetness in the cold day’s air,
as I searched far and wide for my Gemini.
I walked all day into light moonshiny
never coming close to my other self,
so I put the concept up on a shelf.

Rime Royal
Dating back at least as far back as Geoffrey Chaucer, the Rime Royal derives its name from being popularised by King James I.
Composed in 7 lines, its rhyme scheme is a,b,a,b,b,c,c, and is usually written in Iambic Pentameter.
An iamb is a type of metrical 'foot' used in a poem. It is composed of two syllables, with the accent on the second syllable. Examples: 'to-day' or 'en-rage.'
Pentameter means that there are five metrical feet per line. Iambic pentameter means that each line of the poem consists of five iambic feet, or 10 total syllables. An example from Shakespeare: 'Good pilgrim you do wrong your hand too much.'
