Trying To Remember, Good or Bad
It's been a while
Since I've really "seen" you
The beauty of your face
Once etched into my brain
Along side of memories of ocean tides
Is now slowly fading away
Only being able to remember
By year old photographs
I'm trying to remember
For photos only paint a picture
Without the feelings that came with it
I feel that I'm starting to lose
Sight and emotion of something
That was once so colorful in my mind
And I think to myself
Is this a good thing
Or is it a bad thing
If it's good, I'm on my way
To losing all hold on the past
Moving on to the sun of a bright new day
And if it's bad, I'm on my way
To losing all hold on the past
The past that I once dearly treasured
Only time will tell
Whether it's good or bad
But I'll try to remember you, day to day
Just to see how long my feelings hold
Because no fire burns forever
